Nia Long Should Not Need to 'Reveal' Her Baby's Dad!

When actress Nia Long revealed her pregnancy earlier this week the question on everyone's lips: Who's the daddy? Turns out, it is not such a secret.

Long's boyfriend of two years -- NBA player Ime Udoka -- is the dad. Big shock. They have been together two years! Why does everyone act like it is such a mystery who the dad is when people have been together as long as these two? Is it because they are not married?

Congrats to the happy couple, but personally, if I had been with someone two years and everyone was questioning the paternity of my child, I might be the slightest bit insulted. I mean, come on now. If they had been married two years, there would be no doubt.

Take, for instance, this headline from Contactmusic.com: "Nia Long Confirms Pregnancy, Names Father." It sounds so scandalous, right? Is it really such a leap to think that her committed boyfriend of two years just MIGHT be the baby's dad?

Jeesh, people. It seems like there is a disconnect between the reality of the fact that you can get pregnant without a wedding ring and that still does not mean you were sleeping around. The big "reveal" is no big whoop. OK, so there have been rumors of her having a relationship with a married man, but those are rumors. What is confirmed is her long-term relationship with Oduka. Minds out of the gutter, please!

This is the second child for long who does have an 11-year-old son with her ex-husband Massai Dorsey. Wonder if people wondered about her son's paternity, too? Or maybe because they were married they took it for granted.

It is hard to imagine a world in which every time a star turned up pregnant, married or not, they then had to "reveal" the father. Congrats to the happy couple and Nia: Keep on rocking the bikini! You look great!
