Quiznos expanding into Brazil

Quiznos has signed a master franchise agreement to open its first locations in Brazil, the Denver-based sub sandwich chain said.
Denver-based Quiznos partnered with master franchiser Brazil Best Food Inc. (BBF), which has been a franchisee for several different fine dining and retail concepts in the South American country.
The agreement calls for seven Quiznos restaurants to be open in Brazil by the end of 2011 and 200 to be in operation throughout the country in the coming years.
“BBF brings a wealth of experience and understanding of the food business, and we look forward to making Brazil a significant growth area for Quiznos,” Lee Vala, Quiznos chief international development officer, said in a statement Wednesday.
Quiznos has made a major push to expand overseas in the past year and has signed franchise agreements to move into Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, India and Kuwait, among other countries.
Menus in the Brazilian locations will feature items unique to the Brazilian market, officials said.
