That said, it's no wonder that Akashic Books and Audible.com snagged the actor to read the hottest property in the publishing world at the moment: "Go the F--- to Sleep." On Thursday night, Jackson stopped by "The Late Show with David Letterman" and read an excerpt of the book and man, no one can deliver a line quite like him.
Written by Rutgers professor Adam Mansbach and illustrated by Ricardo Cortés, "Go the F--- to Sleep" is described as a "children's book for adults." During its marketing campaign where PDF copies were distributed via email, it became a viral sensation. Originally scheduled for publication this October, the book hit No. 2 on Amazon.com's bestseller list by April and was quickly released.

Born out of a Facebook status update, Mansbach has said that when his daughter Vivien was an infant, it would often take hours for her to fall asleep. Exhausted and exasperated, Mansbach posted this as a note on Facebook: "Look out for my forthcoming children's book, Go the -- to Sleep."
